It’s Evolving! Blog Debuts New Posts and Perspectives

The Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies welcomes new writers to highlight even more of the city’s stories on our Evolution D.C. blog.

Washington, D.C., is always changing. This year, the Albert H. Small Center for National Capital Area Studies is welcoming new writers to highlight even more of the city’s stories on our Evolution D.C. blog.

Since its launch in 2022, the blog has invited university students to delve into the history and development of the nation’s capital through original research and creative posts that relate to the Albert H. Small Washingtoniana Collection.

Now, readers can expect a wider range of posts.

Beyond spotlighting the historical collection, the blog is introducing new types of posts that explore the dynamic world of D.C. studies today. Budding student journalists are invited to contribute news stories on public programs and exhibitions hosted by the center, as well as behind-the-scenes research and staff updates.

In addition, students will have the opportunity to conduct interviews with archivists, historians, museum staff and other professionals who are preserving and interpreting the city’s history. Transcripts of these interviews will be featured on the blog.

Interested in sharing your perspective on Washington’s history? We invite new and experienced student writers to contribute. Please out this form to start a conversation about blogging for Evolution D.C.
